Troubleshooting:
"Windows cannot access the specified device, path, or file..."
This article applies to Bundle-Track versions 3.6.00 and above.
After receiving a new client executable from Bundle-Track support,
you may encounter the following message when you attempt to start
Bundle-Track:
| Windows cannot access the specified device,
path, or file. You may not have the appropriate permissions
to access the item. |
Typically, this indicates that your operating system is blocking
this program to protect itself against an unknown executable.
To remedy the error, perform the following procedure:
- Locate the client executable file (BTNetwork.exe or BTDesktop.exe)
in your Bundle-Track directory (probably
in c:\Program Files\Bundle-Track\)
- Right-click on the file (BTNetwork.exe or BTDesktop.exe) and
select Properties.
- When you get a popup window explaining that Windows is blocking
this file, click the Unblock button, and then the Apply button.
- Try Bundle-Track.
