  • Troubleshooting: "Version Mismatch "

    This article applies to Bundle-Track versions 3.6.00 and above.

    After installing Bundle-Track, running Bundle-Track Links, and attempting to start the Bundle-Track executable, the following error is generated:

    Error: Version Mismatch.

    Typically, this indicates that multiple versions of the Borland Database Administrator are installed on the machine and idapi32.cfg has not been merged correctly.

    To remedy the error, perform the following procedure:

    1. Stop the InterBase Server. (procedure)
    2. Begin a reinstall of Bundle-Track.
    3. At the 'Select Components' screen, uncheck 'Client for Windows'.
    4. At the Borland Database Engine Directory screen (shown below),

      if the default path is not C:\Program Files\Borland\Common Files\Bde, ...
      1. Click the 'Browse' button.
      2. In the Select Destination Directory screen, type the path
        C:\Program Files\Borland\Common Files\Bde, then click OK.
    5. Complete the installation process.
    6. Reboot the machine.
    7. Try Bundle-Track.

    If Bundle-Track still generates the error or if the other BDE program no longer works, try the following procedure:

    1. Stop the InterBase Server. (procedure)
    2. Begin a reinstall of Bundle-Track.
    3. At the 'Select Components' screen, uncheck 'Client for Windows'.
    4. At the Borland Database Engine Directory screen, click the 'Advanced' button to open the BDE Advanced Options screen (shown below).

    5. Confirm that 'BDE Configuration Filename' lists 'idapi32.cfg' (as shown above).
    6. Confirm that the 'Import existing configuration information (recommended)' checkbox is checked (as shown above).
    7. Check the 'Support Win16 and Win32 BDE programs' checkbox.
      (Note that this is not recommended unless the procedure above failed to resolve the problem.)
    8. Click OK to close the BDE Advanced Options screen.
    9. Complete the installation process.
    10. Reboot the machine.
    11. Try Bundle-Track.

    If Bundle-Track still generates the error or if the other BDE program no longer works, please contact Bundle-Track Support for assistance.
