System Maintenance:
Upgrading Bundle-Track from version
3.6 and higher
This will update your Bundle-Track database to version 3.8.40
patch 2.
What you will need:
- A login with Administrator privileges on the machine.
- a new licensed BTNetwork.exe file compatible with the Database
Version you are going to reach with this upgrade.
- If you do not have this file at this time, you can proceed,
but be sure to contact your Bundle-Track representative
to get a licensed executable for your upgrade. You will have
only 7 days before your temporary file expires.
Procedure:
- Contact the Bundle-Track Support team
to request a new Bundle-Track Executable for your upgrade.
- See contact info at top right on this page.
- If you don't currently have a Setup Package for your system,
contact Bundle-Track Support for this file.
- See contact info at top right on this page.
- Make a backup file (.GBK) of your
production database.
- Rename the .GBK file (not the .GDB file!).
- (It's located in your Databases
folder.)
- Insert the word 'Old' at the beginning of the file name.
- Keep this file in case you need to fall back to it.
- Stop the InterBase Server.
- Run the Setup Package on the Bundle-Track Server machine.
- This is the large file you downloaded in step 2 above.
- This will install a 7-day temporary executable. You must
contact Bundle-Track Support to get a new licensed executable
to run beyond this 7-day period.
- Restart the InterBase Server.
- Determine your database version.
- Download the Upgrade Script appropriate for your current
database version.
- Right-click on a link below, select Save Target As, and
save the file where you can find it again.
- Run the Upgrade Script you just
downloaded through IB Console.
- Stop and Restart the InterBase
Server.
- Make a backup (.GBK) file of the newly upgraded production
database.
- Replace your old Bundle-Track Executable (in the Bundle-Track
directory) with the new one.
- This is the smaller file you acquired from Bundle-Track
support.
- Test Bundle-Track.
That's it. Your system as now been upgraded to the current version.
