Setup: Editing the Filepath
for a Networked Database (Network Edition
only)
It should look like this:
serverName:drive:\localPath\BT30600NAME.gdb
- Note that the text in green italics will be replaced with
your own particulars.
- Note that the localPath
portion will be the true filepath on the networked server, from
the server's own perspective, and not a shared folder
name as it would be seen by other machines on the network.
If you are setting the database filepath
to access a database that resides on a networked machine (not on
the local machine), you will need to manually modify the filepath
that Bundle-Track Links proposes.
After you have used the browse button in Bundle-Track Links to
locate and select the database file on a networked server, the filepath
that Bundle-Track Links proposes has the following format:
\\serverName\localPath\BT30600NAME.gdb
You must manually edit that path as follows:
- Delete the "\\" preceding the server name.
- Insert "::" (two colons) after the server name.
- Between the two colons you just inserted, insert the letter
of the physical drive on the server on which the database
file resides.
- Confirm that the path now conforms to this format:
serverName:drive:\localPath\BT30600NAME.gdb
- Click OK to store the new filepath.
- Close Bundle-Track Links.
