Gen. Reference: Identifying the IP Address of your Server

Procedure:

1. Open a command prompt:
   • Windows 98: From the Windows Start Menu, select Programs, MS-DOS Prompt.
   • Other Windows editions: From the Windows Start Menu, select Run, then type 'cmd' and click OK.
      
2. Type 'ping MachineName', replacing MachineName with your machine's actual Machine Name, and press Enter.
    
3. Note the number following 'Reply from'. It's a 4-part number in the form a.b.c.d. That's your IP Address.
    
4. Type 'Exit' and press Enter to close to close the command window.
