Troubleshooting: "General SQL error. Lock conflict on no wait transaction."

Note. There are other errors that begin with "General SQL error." This article addresses those involving a Lock Conflict.

Resolution:

1. Unfreeze pay.
    
2. Shut down the database.
   • Click for procedure.
      
3. Restart the database.
   • Click for procedure.
      
4. Refreeze pay
   • Click for procedure.
      
5. Try closing your pay period again.

If that doesn't solve the problem try this:

1. Unfreeze pay.
    
2. Perform a Backup and Restore.
   • Click for procedure.
      
3. Refreeze pay
   • Click for procedure.
      
4. Try closing your pay period again.
