  • Gen. Reference: Bundle-Track Databases

This information applies to Bundle-Track versions 3.6 and above.

All the data in your Bundle-Track system is stored and managed by a Relational Database Management System called InterBaseŠ 6.

    Names and Locations
The default names for the databases are as follows:

By default, both are located in the Databases directory:

    .../Bundle-Track/Databases/

For Desktop Edition, they must remain there. However, with Network Edition, you may rename them and relocate them anywhere on your network. If you do rename or relocate them, just be sure to use the Bundle-Track Links utility to update Bundle-Track's database connections.

    Version Number
You can identify the version of your Bundle-Track Database with this procedure.
Version Upgrades can be found here.

    Handling Precautions
It is important that you never copy or move a database while the InterBase Server is Running. You could corrupt your database, in which case you would have to revert to your most recent backup. Always stop the InterBase Server before moving, copying, or renaming the database.

It is also important that you regularly perform backup and restore maintenance on your production database, both to keep your database file as small and fast as possible and to ensure that you have a useful fallback position if anything does go wrong with your database file.

If you would like to try the effects of new settings on current data without putting current data at risk, please follow this procedure to copy your production data into test.
