    Relocation or Re-Installation of Client Only

    Important Notice: This procedure is for re-installations and relocations only. If you are installing a Client for the first time, please use the Installation procedure instead.

    Use this procedure if you are relocating or duplicating only a Bundle-Track Client (user interface), not a Server (database system).
    (Related procedures: Server and Client, Server Only.)

    What you'll need:

    • Administrative access to the old and new servers
    • Your Bundle-Track Installation Package
      • If you don't have it, contact support to get one.

    Procedure:

    1. Use the Bundle-Track Links utility on the old machine to read and note the database filepaths currently listed there.
       
    2. If there is an older Windows-based version of Bundle-Track installed on the machine, uninstall it, and then delete the Bundle-Track directory. (You may leave DOS versions if you wish.)
       
    3. Make sure your system date is correct. If not, change it now. (If you change it later, your Bundle-Track client executable will expire itself.)
       
    4. Start the Bundle-Track Installation package on the new machine.
       
    5. In the Installation Wizard's 'Select Components' panel ...
      • Uncheck 'Server for Windows'
      • Uncheck 'Example Programs and Databases'
      • Accept all other defaults.
         
    6. Rename the newly-installed Bundle-Track directory to Bundle-TrackTEMP.
       
    7. Copy the entire Bundle-Track directory from the old machine to the new machine.
       
    8. Run the Bundle-Track Links utility on the new machine to set the database filepath(s).
      • Note: If you are printing these instructions, you should follow the link above and print that page too.
         
    9. If this Client will be printing Bundle-Tickets:
      Configure the Printer Object as detailed on this page.
       
    10. Log into Bundle-Track. (If necessary, troubleshoot.)
       
    11. In Bundle-Track, menu select File >> Printer Setup, and specify your system's printers.
       
    12. If this Client will be printing Bundle-Tickets:
      Set your Ticket Layout according to your Production Standards:
      • If Money-based, change to the Custom Ticket Layout. (Procedure)
      • If Time-based, the default layout is appropriate.
      (Interested in a custom Ticket layout?)
       
    13. If this Client will be printing Bundle-Tickets:
      Initialize the barcode fonts. (Procedure)
       
    14. Delete the Bundle-TrackTEMP directory from the new machine.
       
    15. Look in your old machine's Fonts Directory for a c39m3.ttf font file.
      • If it's not there, you don't need it.
      • If it is there, copy the c39m3.ttf font file into the new machine's font directory.

    16. If relocating (but not if copying!):
      On the old machine, uninstall Bundle-Track and delete the Bundle-Track directory.
       

    That's it.
