  • Network Edition: Setup:
    Installation of Client Only

Important Notice: This procedure is for new installations only. If you are moving a Client that has already been installed, please use the Relocation procedure instead.

Use this procedure if you are installing only a Bundle-Track Client (user interface), not a Server (database system), on this machine.
(Related procedures: Server and Client, Server Only.)

    What you will need:

    • A login with Administrator privileges on the machine.
    • Your Bundle-Track setup package
      • If you don't already have one, contact support to get one.
      • includes a temporary 7-day BTNetwork.exe file
    • a licensed BTNetwork.exe file
      • If you have another licensed Bundle-Track Client currently installed, then you can simply copy the BTNetwork.exe file from that installation.
      • If you do not have this file at this time, you can proceed, but be sure to contact your Bundle-Track representative to get a licensed file before your temporary file expires.

    Procedure:

    1. If there is an older Windows-based version of Bundle-Track installed on the machine, uninstall it, and then delete the Bundle-Track directory. (You may leave DOS versions if you wish.)

    2. Make sure your system date is correct. If not, change it now. (If you change it later, your Bundle-Track client executable will expire itself.)

    3. Run the Bundle-Track Installation package on the new machine:
      • If you wish to install into c:\Program Files\Bundle-Track\, accept all default paths presented by the install wizard. Otherwise, on any panel that gives you the option, change the default filepath.
      • In the Installation Wizard's 'Select Components' panel ...
        • Uncheck 'Server for Windows'
        • Uncheck 'Example Programs and Databases'
        • Accept all other defaults.

    4. The setup package installs a temporary (7-day) BTNetwork.exe file. If you have a licensed BTNetwork.exe, use that licensed file to overwrite the one that was installed by the setup package. (If you do not have a licensed BTNetwork.exe file at this time, you can skip this step for now, but be sure to contact your Bundle-Track representative to get a licensed file before your temporary file expires.)

    5. Install any new Custom Reports or updated Standard Reports that have been provided to you.

    6. Run the Bundle-Track Links utility on the new machine to set the database filepath(s).
      • Note: If you are printing these instructions, you should follow the link above and print that page too.

    7. Log into Bundle-Track. (If necessary, troubleshoot.)

    8. In Bundle-Track, menu select File >> Printer Setup, and specify your system's printers.

    9. If this Client will be printing Bundle-Tickets:
      1. Configure the Printer Object as detailed on this page.
      2. Set your Ticket Layout according to your Production Standards:
      3. Initialize the barcode fonts. (Procedure)

    That's it.

Remember: the number of Bundle-Track Clients that may simultaneously connect to the Server is limited to the number of User Seats you have licensed. Click here to order additional User Seats.
