  • Gen. Reference: Bundle-Track Links

    Intro to Bundle-Track Links

Bundle-Track Links is a utility that prepares the connections between Bundle-Track and its databases. It configures ODBC Data Sources and BDE Aliases according to the filepaths specified in the text boxes in BT Links.

Anytime you rename or relocate a Bundle-Track database, you'll need to run Bundle-Track Links at each client workstation to update the database connections.

    Starting BT Links

Use the Windows menu to select Programs / Bundle-Track / Bundle-Track Links.

    Preparing/Updating your Database Connections

    1. Start Bundle-Track Links.
    2. Read the filepaths currently specified for the Production and Test databases. If they need to be changed, change them.
    3. Click OK.
    4. Click Close.

    Reading a Database Filepath

Start Bundle-Track Links. There, you will see the filepaths currently specified for the databases.

    Setting a Database Filepath

In Desktop Edition, the filepaths are read-only.

In Network Edition, filepaths can be modified as follows:

    1. Start Bundle-Track Links.

    2. Next to the database filepath you wish to set, click the button to open the 'Open' dialog. (If the button does not respond, clear the path field and try again.)

    3. Use the 'Open' dialog to locate and select the database (.gdb) file you are setting.

    4. With the proper file selected in the 'Open' dialog, click the Open button. The 'Open' dialog will close and the Links utility will load the new the filepath.
      • NOTE: If you are selecting a database that resides on a networked machine (not on the local machine), you will need to manually modify the filepath that Bundle-Track Links proposes. Click here for instructions.
      • Note: If you are printing these instructions, you should follow the link above and print that page too.

    5. Click OK to store the new filepath.

    6. Click Close to exit Bundle-Track Links.
