  • General Reference: Annotations

Some users ask where Bundle-Track might allow them to log annotations, about quality issues, for example.

We present a few options below. Please note that, in each case, you would need custom reports to access the data.

    • 30-Character Descriptions attached to Events via Zero-Value Production Adjustments
On the Event's Production panel, use the Adjustments tab to add a zero-value adjustment (in Currency, or Time, or Total Pay, it doesn't matter) and input the annotation in the Description field. This would allow you to input any annotation you like, up to 30 chars. Because this is a transaction-level record, this data would be lost once the Event's date rolled past your Historic Production Detail Protection timeframe.

    • Standardized Quality Metrics attached to Events as Zero-Value Operations
If you can standardize your list of measurement/annotations, you can create zero-value Operations to represent them as Special Metrics that can be attached to Events. On the Event's Production panel, you would use the Operations tab to attach those symbolic Operations where appropriate. Each of these records would have a Code (15 chars), a Description (30 chars) and a Comment (30 chars), which you would define when creating the Operation - not when applying the Operation to the Event. Because charged Operations are transaction-level records, this data would be lost once the Event's date rolled past your Historic Production Detail Protection timeframe.

    • Summary Numbers in Custom Fields under Employee Records
If you can standardize your list of measurement/annotations, and all you need is to store a summary number for each employee (instead of attaching this data to specific Events), you can do that with Employee Custom Fields. We can help you to add these fields to the Employee Editor. (We'd just need the Code and Description text you want displayed for each and we'd prepare a simple script for you.) Then, under each Employee record, you would be able to store a number in each of those fields. This data would be non-transactional (and thus not subject to disappearing over time) and the values would change only when you edit them directly.
